This was, quite possibly one of the most interesting, as well as crazy experiences that I have ever had in an online game. Back when there was only the Midnight Ocean, a fairly renowned pirate (Whitefire) loaded up a Grand Frigate and sailed around the ocean for 24 hours, offering prizes, trivia, and special bonuses for certain feats. A Grand Frigate holds up 150 individual pirates, and the pillage was so popular that they had to bring out a second one because the first was full! I was there for all but the very first battle. This single event was responsible for a huge influx of piece's of eight into the game's economy as well as bring into the limelight some issues with booty distribution for defeating NPC brigands. The Ocean Masters even intervened a few times, including hopping on opposing ships to fight against us. By the time it was over, I had 320,000 pieces of eight to add to my bank! Following this, there was quite a few more 24-hour pillage events, but none of them measured up to the scale and spectacle of this one.
